A Prayer against Wrongful Detention and Incarceration

A lot of people wake up to uncertainties and it no doubt calls for all child of God to always guide themselves. So everyday, there’s need to say a prayer against wrongful detention, to plead with God to help us avoid troubles, especially issues that will make us serve jail times for offense we did not commit.

Let Us therefore say this prayer against wrongful detention and incarceration.

I come before You today with a heavy heart, filled with concern and fear about the possibility of unmerited detention and the troubles that may arise in my life. Lord, You are the ultimate source of justice and righteousness, and I implore You to protect me from any situation that may lead to wrongful detention and incarceration for an offense I did not commit.

Your Word reminds us in Psalm 119:165 that “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.” We love Your law, dear Lord, and we seek the peace that comes from living in accordance with Your divine guidance. We ask for Your protection from any stumbling blocks or false accusations that may lead to detention.

In Proverbs 3:5-6, we are encouraged to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” We trust in You, Lord, and we submit our lives and circumstances to Your care. Please make our paths straight, protecting us from any wrongful accusations or unjust circumstances.

We find comfort in Psalm 91:4, which tells us that “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge.” We seek refuge in Your protective embrace, Lord, and we ask that You shield us from any harm, danger, or accusations that are not warranted.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment in our actions and interactions with others, that we may be guided by Your divine wisdom and avoid situations that may lead to unmerited detention. In James 1:5, we are assured that “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” We ask for Your wisdom to make wise choices and decisions.

Lord, in Psalm 9:9, it is written, “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” We seek refuge in You, especially in times of trouble when our freedom and innocence are at stake. Protect us from any oppressive or unjust actions that may lead to our detention.

In Isaiah 54:17, we find reassurance that “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.” We stand firm in this promise, declaring that any false accusations and judgments against us will not prosper, as we trust in Your divine protection and righteousness.

We also ask for guidance and protection from false witnesses or unjust accusers. In Proverbs 25:18, it is written, “A man who bears false witness against his neighbor is like a war club, a sword, and a sharp arrow.” We pray that You shield us from any false witnesses who may seek to harm us, and we trust in Your justice to prevail.

Lord, in Psalm 56:3-4, we find solace in knowing that “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?” We put our trust in You, dear Lord, and we ask that You calm our fears and anxieties regarding unmerited detention. Help us remain steadfast in our faith, knowing that You are our protector and defender.

Dear Father, In praise for Your unwavering love, protection, and justice. We pray Father, that You guard us from unjust accusations, unmerited detention, unfair incarceration and the troubles that may arise. May Your righteousness prevail, and may we walk in the freedom and innocence that You have provided.

In Your holy name, we offer this prayer, Amen
